The clock has left the chimney mantel\u00a0to float, irreal, surrounded by a halo of smoke, over the locomotive plume. Its face has rocked a quarter turn, its mecanisms have left it and seem to\u00a0combine with those of the steam engine. The engine itself comes\u00a0out from nowhere, ghostly, and searches awkwardly the darkness with its headlights to follow the rails leading to an improbable future. The quiet\u00a0ambiance from the Magritte original artwork\u00a0becomes blazing with the fire consuming the chimney legs, and\u00a0torned by the time machinery gears.<\/p>\n<p>En fran\u00e7ais:\u00a0Dans ce nouveau tableau Nathalie D&#8217;Al\u00f9 s&#8217;inspire librement de <em>La dur\u00e9e poignard\u00e9e<\/em>, une oeuvre de Magritte dont elle reprend les principaux \u00e9l\u00e9ments. L&#8217;horloge a quitt\u00e9 la tablette de la chemin\u00e9e\u00a0pour se dresser, irr\u00e9elle, nimb\u00e9e d&#8217;une aur\u00e9ole de fum\u00e9e, au dessus du panache de la locomotive. Son cadran a bascul\u00e9 d&#8217;un quart de tour, ses rouages l&#8217;ont quitt\u00e9e et leur m\u00e9canique semble se m\u00e9langer avec celle de la machine \u00e0 vapeur qui surgit de nulle part, fantomatique, et fouille maladroitement les t\u00e9n\u00e8bres de ses phares pour y suivre des rails menant vers un avenir improbable.
